Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir of Church of the Saviour is a 50 voice ensemble that prepares special and weekly service music for the Choir and Orchestra Led [COL] services at the church. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:15-9:15 from mid-September through June. Participants should be able to read music or learn quickly by ear, match pitch, and desire to grow in fun, faith, and fellowship.
Festival Choir of Church of the Saviour
The Festival Choir of Church of the Saviour is a 75 voice ensemble that prepares seasonal and occasional concerts, including the Christmas series where over 4000 people attend each year. The Festival Choir has performed at Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center, home of the world renowned Philadelphia Orchestra. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 8:00-9:15 from October through early December.
Sanctuary Orchestra
The Sanctuary Orchestra serves as the instrumental accompanying resource for the COL services. It is open to all instrumentalists who are committed to regular, personal practice as well as our Sunday rehearsals that start at 7:20 a.m. That’s right! Awaken the dawn with your gifts!
- 1st week of the month: woodwinds and strings
- 2nd week of the month: full orchestra
- 3rd week of the month: Brass and Percussion
- 4th week of the month: full and youth orchestra
- 5th week of the month: as the Spirit leads
Festival Orchestra of Church of the Saviour
The Festival Orchestra is a professional orchestra that performs during the Christmas series with The Festival Choir. Membership is open to professional or professional quality instrumentalists subject to repertoire needs and our Orchestral Personnel Manager/Contractor.
Chamber Ensemble
The Ensemble is a select group of singers that present special music and lead our congregation in worship. Comprised of 12 to 16 singers, the group performs classical as well as traditional and contemporary arrangements and leads in worship once a month. The ensemble also performs in our Christmas Concert and has sung for weddings and other special music events in and outside of COS. Under the direction of Cheryl Owens and Beverly Moore, the Ensemble meets every Tuesday night for rehearsals in the choir room. New Life Singers
The New Life Singers is a vocal ensemble comprised of Middle and High School aged students who hold fast to its mission of: a) proficiency in the area of vocal music using repertoire that spans from Classical/Sacred to Musical Theatre and Christian Contemporary; and b) using our gifts both within the church and throughout the community to speak the name of Jesus Christ. Starting this fall, rehearsals run Monday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, September through April. Jenny Kring - Director.
Jasper Praise Ensemble
Jasper Praise Ensemble was formed with the goal of providing a place for singers to combine their voices in a contemporary music setting. It consists of 25-30 singers. Music is selected from Praise and Worship music with special emphasis on Black Gospel music. Jasper also serves as a training fellowship for preparing singers for smaller groups that also lead in the Praise Team Led [PTL] services. Rehearsals are once per month on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:45.
The Vine (6pm Service)
Musicians and Vocalists
Those desiring to give of their time and energies in the 6:00pm service as a musician or vocalist will be asked to play a blend of both contemporary and traditional music. Practices for evening worship teams are held Tuesday evenings, often between 7:30-9:30pm, and Sunday between 4:00-5:30pm. The commitment level is 1-2 weeks/month, and the schedule is often posted 3-4 months in advance. Rehearsals and interviews for such volunteer roles will be conducted by a Worship Arts Ministry leader.

Commitment Level: 1 Sunday/month.
