A native of Houston, TX, Todd was raised in a Christian home, resulting in his accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of his life at age nine. During those years, his family moved to Exton, PA, for three years, giving him a taste of Pennsylvania before moving back to Texas.

He began his college career at the University of Houston and completed undergraduate studies with a BA in Christian Ministries from Southwest Baptist University in 1989. He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1994 and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Todd's ministry experience began as a Youth Intern in 1987, followed by Youth Pastor positions from 1989 to 1999 in churches located in Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. During his Oklahoma tenure, he served as a planner for the Oklahoma Youth Evangelism Conference for 7,000 students.

In 1999, he accepted his prior position as Senior Pastor of Metro East Baptist Church in Wichita, KS, which began as a new church with an average weekly attendance of 100 and has now grown to over 800 members.

Todd indicates that there is no secret key to his continued growth in Christ-likeness, which is sharpened daily by God's Word and his avid reading of books by godly men. Writers he credits as major influences include John Piper, J.I. Packer, John MacArthur, Alistair Begg, Mark Dever, Timothy Keller, Sinclair Ferguson and Charles Spurgeon.

Todd's passion is to preach God's Word in all of its life-altering fullness. He is absolutely convinced that no matter where you are in your spiritual journey, the Bible has something specific to say that will both challenge and change you. Todd also believes that for all of its flaws, the church is still the community of God's people and is, therefore, the best place to come in contact with the truth we all most urgently need to hear.
