Mark was born into a Christian home and trusted Christ as his Savior at a very young age, through Sunday school at Oxford Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. He publicly professed his faith at junior high age and has always felt the presence of God in his life.

Mark was involved in ministries through Haverford High School, such as Youth Group at Church, Young Life Club, Campaigners et al. Not the best of students, he worked for a year upon graduation, then joined the US Army and served for two years, the last one in Bien Hoa, Vietnam. His faith grew while there and he started a Bible study in his tent.

After the Army, Mark went to college at Philadelphia College of Bible, then to Delaware County Community College. During that time, he met and fell in love with his wife Karen. After graduating from DCCC, they left for the University of Georgia, where Mark received his Masters degree. It was an exciting time of spiritual growth for both of them.

Upon graduation, they moved to Burlington, NJ, where Mark started his career in Human Resources and they started a family. Sons Bryan, Philip and Timothy were all born in NJ. Karen and Mark were active at Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol, PA. They worked with the senior high school ministry and loved every minute of it. Later (11 years), they moved into the house in which Mark grew up, in Havertown, where they still reside today.

God, in his sovereignty, redirected Mark's career path by bringing him to COS in his current position. God has also been generous and gracious to Karen, who works at Haverford Senior High School; Bryan, who is an EPIC leader here at COS; Philip, who is serving in the US Army in Afghanistan; and Tim, who is working full-time.

What then do I say in response to all of this? If God be for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
(Romans 8:31-32)
