Janet and Bruce have been married for 36 years. They have two sons and four grandchildren. Jan’s second language is Spanish. As the daughter of missionary parents, Janet’s school years were spent in Costa Rica, Argentina and Puerto Rico.

Janet earned her BA degree and teaching certification from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. She has a Masters degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Before coming to COS, Jan and Bruce lived in 5 other States.

Janet has always been active in her local church. She has served as a Middle School youth leader, Sunday School Superintendent, VBS Curriculum writer and coordinator, Pioneer Girls, AWANA, Deaconess for Fellowship, Choir, Bible Study leader, Woman to Woman Mentor, as well as serving on Missions Committees and serving on short-term mission trips.

Pennsylvania has been home to the Chambers family for 15 years. Janet has been a member of COS for 14 years and has sung in the choir and served on the Heritage School Board. Janet has been the Director of the Heritage School for 12 years.

Janet is currently on the Early Education Council for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and a seminar speaker for the Early Ed. community. She is active with the Mainline Preschool Directors, a member of the DCECA, Inc. and participates in the CCIU Early Ed. Council.

Janet actively encourages other evangelical churches to consider a preschool as an outreach ministry, and has helped several local churches start or strengthen their preschool ministry. She also encourages her young education majors at Heritage School to view their profession as a ministry.
