"I have greatly enjoyed serving God at COS by helping for 12 years in the Children’s Ministry (preschool age Sunday School). Three of the reasons that’s true are:
- I was welcomed from the very first day, and encouraged and supported all along.
- Everyone just does the best they can for the Lord and each other. No one is perfect, and no one has ever expected me to be perfect either. (Thank you, God!)
- It’s okay and even encouraged to serve in a ministry that also refreshes your own heart. At first, I worried that I was “cheating” by doing something that is just plain fun for me personally --- I LOVE kids – until I was reminded that we sometimes do our best work for God that way. It doesn’t always have to be something "hard" or "serious" to be valued; God calls us as HE chooses...
Now I am exploring the possibility of serving in a different ministry for the next few years, and I already feel that same COS support and encouragement. Who knows what God may have in mind as the next way to serve?... I can’t wait!"
