The Pre-Engagement & Pre-Marital Program at COS
The Pre-Engagement & Premarital Program is designed to help couples who want to confirm their commitment to each other and/or prepare couples for Christian marriage. If you are planning to be married by a Church of the Saviour pastor, or at the church, you must successfully complete the Pre-Marital Program.

Who Should Take The Program?
- Engaged Couples
- Couples who are dating and want to confirm their commitment to each other.
When should we begin?
If you have been dating and have decided that you want to confirm your commitment to each other it is suggested that you consider taking the classes. If you are engaged we suggest that you should try to complete the program four to six months before the wedding.
What Preparation is Needed?
Prior to the beginning of classes couples must:
- Supply background information.
- Complete the Taylor Johnson & Prepare/Enrich Instruments.
What material is covered in the Program?
- Biblical Foundations
- Communication and Conflict
- Forgiveness
- Financial Stewardship
- Expectations
- Sexuality
As part of the program you will be assigned a mentor couple. Each couple is matched with the best suitable mentors. The two couples will mutually agree on the meeting times which typically take place off of the Church of the Saviour campus. You will meet four to five times with your mentors.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MARRIED BY A CHURCH OF THE SAVIOUR PASTOR OR USE THE CHURCH YOU WILL NEED TO:
- Schedule to meet with a Church of the Saviour pastor, which should take place prior to, or shortly after, beginning the Program. The pastor will confirm the availability of the facilities after the interview has been completed.
- Attend 8 class sessions.
- Have 4-5 meetings with mentors.
Is there a registration fee?
The registration fee, to cover the cost of materials for the class, is $175 per couple, payable to Church of the Saviour. A $25 discount is available for those who turn in all the registration materials, and fee, six weeks before the classes begin as it will help the Premarital Program Team prepare for the classes.
