The Alpha Course

Have you ever desired to explore the Christian faith in an open, friendly, "questions-are-welcome" atmosphere? Do you have questions about God or who Jesus Christ is but don't have any place to ask them?

The Alpha Course is a ten-week opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed environment with other individuals who are also exploring Christianity. Each week a different topic is presented in an informal and friendly atmosphere where you may ask questions or just sit and listen. Some topics include: "Who is Jesus?", "Why Did Jesus Die?", "How Can I be Sure of My Faith?", and other questions.

Frequently Asked Questions about ALPHA Tuesday Nights

What happens during the Alpha course?

Each Alpha course meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. with a meal. Many individuals attend the course right after work so bring your appetite, don't worry about dinner and enjoy our hospitality. After dinner there is a video presentation on a topic about the Christian faith. After the presentation individuals are given an opportunity to discuss informally in small groups what they thought about the presentation. Some people ask questions, some people don't, the choice is yours. No one will call on you to answer questions, but if you have questions about the topic here is the time and place to ask them. The course will conclude each evening at 8:15 p.m. sharp.

Is there childcare?

Yes! Each Alpha course has childcare for children from newborns to the 6th grade. Children from Kindergarten through the 6th grade will participate in a separate Awana Club Program at the church at the exact same time. Information about Awana can be obtained on the internet at www.awana.org or by calling Ellie Greenhalgh, Director of Children's Ministries at Church of the Saviour at 610.688.6338 x 219. Separate childcare for preschoolers will also be provided.
