COS Short-Term Missions Trips

Church of the Saviour has long been committed to exposing the congregation to God's heart for the world and developing disciples for ministry throughout the world. We are also committed to the on-going encouragement of those we have sent out to minister in many parts of the world. To that end, Church of the Saviour has sent out short term missions teams for over 20 years.

This short-term mission ministry of Church of the Saviour began in 1982 with a trip to Kenya taken by members of the student ministry. Subsequently the program expanded in both the number of individuals involved as well as the number of fields visited. These trips were developed primarily as a student and singles-oriented ministry with leadership for the teams usually being a pastor, ministry intern or other ministry leader. The selection of fields has been based on where Church of the Saviour has missionaries who could host a group to come and minister, and in areas of the world Church of the Saviour would like to expand its missions presence.

The mission of the Church is toward bringing "closure" to the task of world evangelism, and thus, we have a philosophical commitment to see new missionaries in areas where they are most needed and where they are of the greatest strategic value. We continue to promote innovation, new missions efforts, and adoption of unreached people groups, where the Gospel is unknown, while also continuing to affirm and support our existing missionary efforts and encourage these missionaries.

In 2007 the Lord enabled us to send a number of adult short-term trips to assist and encourage many of our missionaries serving in places like East Asia, Cambodia and Serbia.  God is changing peoples¢ lives and increasing their vision of Himself and His world.  Are you sensing the nudge to take the next step on your faith journey?"
