Advocates and Home Teams

The Advocate is typically one person or a couple who:

• Prays for the missionary
• Promotes the ministry among his/her circles of influence (zone events, small church, LIFE group, etc.)
• Serves as a liaison between the missionary and COS
• Develops a "care team" who will support the missionary
• Corresponds with the missionary on a regular basis
• Provides informal accountability

The Home Team is comprised of a number of people who:

• Pray for the missionary
• Communicate regularly with them
• Send "care packages" (comics, Twinkies, spices, etc.)
• Assist in the re-entry process during furloughs
