Serving in the Children's Ministry

Dear Prospective Children’s Ministry Volunteers,

Thank you for your interest in serving in our Children’s Ministry at Church of the Saviour. At Church of the Saviour, we place a high value on children as Jesus did when he said, "Let the children come and do not forbid them." Our mission at Church of the Saviour is to welcome every child and give them an exciting opportunity to develop a faith relationship with Jesus Christ, and His Church, and to help them grow in their day by day life of faith.

In order to be effective in following our Lord’s command, we strive to build our children’s programs with the help of caring teens & adults. It is a huge responsibility to care for the children that the Lord brings to us. We want to do so with safety and excellence. Please look for the area that you wish to serve in, and follow the directions/links. Please return all application materials to:

SUNDAY and/or TUESDAY VOLUNTEERS

Prospective Sunday/Tuesday ADULT Volunteers:

• Print and fill out the application form
• Print and fill out the Permission to Obtain a Background Check
• Print out TWO reference forms (ideas for reference – pastor, mentor, Bible study leader, employer, elder, etc.)
• You will be contacted to schedule an interview once all application materials have been returned

Prospective Sunday/Tuesday TEEN Helper:

• Print and fill out the application form
• Print out TWO reference forms (ideas for reference – mentor, Bible study leader, teacher, coach, pastor, etc.)

PROSPECTIVE SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEERS

Prospective Camp Little Bear & C-Camp Junior Counselor/Jr. Block Helpers:

• Print and fill out the application form
• Print out TWO reference forms (ideas for reference – mentor, Bible study leader, teacher, coach, pastor, etc.)

Prospective Servant Leadership Team (SLT):

• Print and fill out the application form
• Fill out the online camp registration form for Adventure Camp by clicking here
• Print out TWO reference forms (ideas for reference – mentor, Bible study leader, teacher, coach, pastor, etc.)
• All applications are DUE BY March 1st
• Call or email Ellie Greenhalgh at 610-688-6338 x219 or to schedule an interview during the month of March – all interviews MUST be completed by March 1st.
• DO NOT SEND PAYMENT FOR CAMP UNTIL NOTIFIED THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM!

RETURNING SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEERS

Returning Camp Little Bear & C-Camp Junior Counselor/Jr. Block Helpers:

• Type out a one-page (or more) testimony of how you have seen God working in your life this year. Include the following:
  
  • What God has been doing in your life this past year
  • What He has taught you
  • The ups and downs of your spiritual journey
  • Why you would like to return to serve at camp
• Hand out TWO reference forms to an adult that knows you well, who may not have completed one for you in the past (ideas for reference – mentor, Bible study leader, teacher, coach, pastor, etc.)

Former SLTs wanting to become LDCs:

Returning Leadership Development Counselor (LDC):

• Type out a one-page (or more) testimony in which you include three elements:
• what God has been doing in your life this past year; what He has taught you; the ups and downs of your spiritual journey.
• any and all leadership opportunities you have had, in school, at church, in the community, on teams; mention any involvement working with kids and youth.
• why you want to return as an LCD at Adventure Camp; your goals for yourself and the kids.
• Hand out TWO reference forms to an adult that knows you well, who may not have completed one for you in the past (ideas for reference – mentor, Bible study leader, teacher, coach, pastor, etc.)
• Fill out the online registration form for Adventure Camp by clicking here
• All materials are DUE BY March 1st.
