A caring Christian recognizes the evangelistic potential in care giving and, therefore, seeks opportunities to extend care to those outside the Body of Christ, so to expose them to the grace of God. He offers care through both his words and deeds.

This is based on the truths in the following verses:

• There is an evangelistic potential in care giving. Matt. 5:13-16
• Care giving can point others to God in the midst of their suffering. Ps 40:2-3
• There is an opportunity to extend care to those outside, so to expose them to the grace of God. Lev. 19:9-10, Matt. 25:35-36, Heb. 13:2
