In helping someone in need, the caring Christian brings in others in such a way that the individual is protected, and their care is strengthened. This may include others who have suffered similarly, professionals with expertise in a given area, and confidential prayer support.

This is based on the truths in the following verses:

• Certain needs require more specialized care or professional expertise, such as medical doctors or professional counselors. Prov. 15:22-23
• Individuals who have suffered similarly can offer support and encouragement. Luke 22: 31-34, 2 Cor. 1:3-7
• Confidential and responsible prayer support for individuals and their caregivers is a helpful resource. 2 Tim 2:1-4
