Care Volunteers

Do you need care?

Care volunteers assist with various tasks for people from COS. We desire to lend a helping hand to people who attend the church. If you find that you have a need such as transportation to church or to the doctor, help with shopping or light housework, or small maintenance needs, please call or email us to let us know! We would be happy to talk with you and let you know if a volunteer is able to help with your need.

Would you like to offer care to someone from COS who is in need?

The Caring Ministry maintains a list of Care Volunteers who have made themselves available to help with occasional needs among COS people. If you are willing to serve in this way, please download the survey, complete it and send it to the Caring Ministry Office. Thank you very much for your willingness to demonstrate Christ’s love in this helpful way.

Open Hearts - Open Homes

We are a group of foster and adoptive families, social workers, and others who have a heart for children who do not have parents or whose parents are unable to care for them. We hope to encourage, support and equip the Body of Christ to help meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of these precious children. We do not function as an adoption agency. Therefore we do not assess and approve families to serve as foster or adoptive families as this is the role of agencies within the community.

We ourselves were once fatherless and alone, but were adopted by God into His family through Christ’s redemptive love. How better to model the Father’s love for us than to reach out to the fatherless, bringing them the love of Christ, and hopefully a family of their own? Please consider how you might use your time, talents or treasures to bring hope to “the least of these”. Please contact the Caring Ministry Office () for more information.

The Visitation Ministry

Individuals on this Team visit those in hospitals, nursing homes or rehabilitation facilities to offer fellowship and encouragement. If you or your loved one would like a visit, call the Caring Ministry (610-688-6338 x259) or email .

Care Groups

Care Groups invite people who are struggling with life issues such as caregiving, battling cancer, dealing with grief or life-controlling behaviors. The groups meet together and find mutual support and encouragement. They offer input based on Biblical truths to give help and hope in the midst of these struggles. Various Care Groups are offered throughout the year. Some are open to new people, while others become closed once the Group is established. Descriptions of Current Care Groups will inform you of what groups are presently running and which have closed to new members.

Lay Counseling

Lay Counselors are members of Church of the Saviour who have been identified as having the spiritual gifts of shepherding, teaching, exhortation, encouragement, wisdom or knowledge. They have completed the Changing Lives conference and classes where they have learned a Biblical understanding of people. They also receive ongoing training to further sharpen their knowledge and skills in helping people deal with common life issues. If you would like to meet with one of these counselors, please call or email the Caring Ministry.

Resource Seminars

Several times throughout the year the Caring Ministry offers seminars on various topics. These seminars are designed to offer Biblical insight on life issues. It is the desire of the Caring Ministry to equip people with a Biblical perspective of hope and help as they face these difficulties or seek to help someone else. A few examples of seminar topics are:

  • Changing Lives Seminar - Understanding and Resolving Conflict
  • Bringing Hope to the Hopelessness of Depression
  • Understanding Anger
  • Did God Plan My Suffering?

Budget Counseling

The Budget Counseling Ministry provides budget counseling and stewardship education. Trained budget counselors are ready to help you understand what God's Word says about finances, as well as managing your resources wisely.

Our teaching includes classroom courses and seminars. We also provide a 12-week overview course for use in a Small Church setting. If you have questions or would like to receive resources produced by the Budget Counseling Ministry, please contact the Caring Ministry Office.
